WHAT IS REVERSE OSMOSIS? |
|
Osmosis is the process in where a solvent flows across a membrane separating a stronger from a weaker solution; the solvent flows in the direction that from weaker solution to stronger solution.
In Reverse Osmosis (RO), a driving force, the differential pressure across the membrane, causes solvent to flow from the stronger solution to the weaker.
RO is a membrane separation technology widely used for water desalination, demineralization and purification. In general, it is the most economical process for desalination of brackish water and sea water. It has no hazardous chemical handling and suitable for clean environment. |

HOW REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER SYSTEM WORKS? |
|
| By applying pressure greater than osmotic pressure of saline feed water against RO membrane, the RO membrane allows water to permeate through it, but not to salt. It splits into two streams when it exits the RO membrane module. One is permeate stream contains minimal salts. Another is reject stream of saline brine. |

WHAT IS WATER DEIONIZATION? |
|
| It is actually an ION EXCHANGE process. Raw water contains dissolved solids comprise of cation (positive charge) and anion (negative charge) minerals. When raw water passes through DI system, the cation resin where the H+ released from the resin in exchange with cation minerals. Similarly, the OHˉ released from anion resin exchange with anion minerals. The H+ and OHˉ released from the resins combine together to form H²O (Water). |
